FiveM Keymaster Guide: License Keys in the Cfx.re Portal

If you are searching for the FiveM Keymaster, you are probably trying to get a license key so your server will start. The tool you need has moved. Cfx.re replaced Keymaster with the Cfx.re Portal, and license keys, purchased assets and subscriptions are now all managed there.

This guide explains what changed, how to create a server license key in the Portal, where your escrowed scripts went, and how to fix the most common key errors.

What Happened to FiveM Keymaster?

Keymaster was the official Cfx.re site for FiveM and RedM server license keys, purchased assets and Patreon-based subscriptions. On 2 December 2024, Cfx.re launched the Cfx.re Portal as its replacement and began phasing Keymaster out. Keymaster and Patreon subscriptions stopped being supported after 1 December 2025.

You don't need to migrate anything by hand. The Portal uses the same Cfx.re account and the same data, so every key and asset you had in Keymaster is already there.

  Download the escrowed scripts, maps and vehicles you bought, which stay tied to your account.

How to Create a FiveM License Key in the Cfx.re Portal

Every FiveM server needs its own license key before it will start. Creating one takes about a minute.

1. Sign in to the Portal

   Go to portal.cfx.re and log in with your Cfx.re account, the same one you used for Keymaster or the forum.

2. Open your server keys

   Open the Servers area and choose the license keys page. Any keys you created in Keymaster are listed here.

3. Generate a key

   Select Generate key and give it a name you'll recognize, such as your server's name. The Portal no longer asks for your server's IP address.

4. Add it to server.cfg

   Copy the key and paste it into your server.cfg as sv_licenseKey "your_key", then restart the server. On a hosted server, most control panels have a license key field that does this for you.

Where Your Purchased Scripts and Assets Went

Scripts, maps and cars bought through the Cfx.re Asset Escrow system now live in the Portal's Granted Assets section. Escrowed resources are encrypted and only run on servers whose license key belongs to the account that owns them.

  Open Granted Assets and download the latest version of each resource.

• Install the resource

  Put the folder in your server's resources directory and add an ensure line for it in server.cfg.
