Keeping your profile picture simple is a good rule of thumb. If you want to use your name in your profile picture, it's often a good idea to use an initial instead of your full name. While featuring your full name may look good at the full 512 × 512 size, remember that most people will see a small version of your profile picture within Discord.

Animated GIF Profile Pictures
Discord Nitro subscribers can opt to use an eye-catching animated PFP by uploading a GIF image. We recommend keeping GIF images below 2.5 MB in size to ensure your animation loads in a timely manner.
If you already have a GIF image with a large file size, you can use an online GIF compressor tool to compress your image with no software required.

Can I use an animated profile picture without Nitro?
