How do I make my Discord server icon animated?
Your server needs Boost Level 1. Then open Server Settings → Server Profile, upload a square GIF of 512 × 512 pixels, and save. Keep the file small so it loads quickly for every member.
Why does my server icon look blurry?
The image is usually smaller than 512 × 512 pixels or has fine details that disappear at sidebar size. Upload a larger square file and simplify the design to a bold shape, logo or initials.
Can I use a video as a Discord server icon?
No. For animation, convert the clip to a GIF first. Trim it to a short loop and crop it to a square before you upload.
What is the difference between a server icon and a server banner?
